Andrew Haythorpe Managing Director
Mr Haythorpe is a Geologist by profession and has been associated with the Mining and Exploration sector for over 20 years. He gained experience in evaluating the technical and financial aspects of mining projects while working as a mining analyst for Suncorp, County Natwest and Hartley Poynton, and then as a Fund Manager with Bankers Trust.
Previously Mr Haythorpe has served as Managing Director of Michelago Resources and Crescent Gold and as non-executive Chairman of Aurox Resources.
He is currently the Managing Director of Liberty Resources Ltd.

Ian Smith Non Executive Director
Mr Smith has more than 40 years experience primarily in the mining service sector and specialising in ammonium nitrate and explosive via companies such as DuPont, DuPont Wesfarmers, Dyno Nobel, Dyno Wesfarmers and the Incitec Pivot owned Dyno global explosive group.
Mr Smith is a mining engineer and qualified, Inspector of Mines in NSW.
He is current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cape Byron Energy, Media & Consultancy Pty Ltd, which has interests in a number of explosives-industry related companies and related products including Low Density Ammonium Nitrate. Cape Byron Energy via subsidiaries, trades in Ammonium Nitrate and related explosive products in Australia, Indonesia and China and also project managed the design, construction and commissioning of 100,000 tpa ammonium nitrate manufacturing facilities at Attaka in Egypt and Cikampek in Indonesia.
Mr Smith has extensive knowledge of the advantages in extracting hydrogen from underground coal gasification and converting that hydrogen into ammonia via small scale plants that provide new industries and employment in regional centres that have a focus on local supply to the mining and agricultural industries.
Jake DeBoer Technical Consultant
Jake has over 26 years in the Fertiliser and Coal Gasification industries and held Senior positions in Perdaman Chemicals & Fertilisers, GHD Oil and Gas and Sasol (Technology) in South Africa. He specialises in unconventional energy project development, and has led front end definition of various coal gasification based projects across Australasia and Africa. At Perdaman, he was responsible for technical, environmental and project requirements for the $3.5 billion, 2 mtpa Urea Collie Coal to Urea project in Western Australia.
Jake’s Qualifications combine a M Eng (Chemical Engineering) with a BCom.

Eoghan Cunningham Project Geologist
With a B.Sc in Earth and Ocean Sciences and a Masters in Geographical Information Systems Eoghan joined the Liberty Team as our Graduate GIS Officer and has subsequently taken the role of Project Geologist. Working closely with Government Departments Eoghan reports on our tenement status, work and expenditure commitments.
Eoghan is also involved in Environmental, Land Access, Native Title and Cultural Heritage issues with Liberty’s Queensland Tenements.
Eoghan is building on his knowledge of Queensland ‘Legislation/ Policies/ Guidelines’ and literary reviews of past projects in Queensland as well as field experience with managing all aspects of geological exploration field operations under the guidance of the exploration manager.
Nina Hughes Project Coordinator / Native Title
Nina graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and Marketing in 2011. After joining Liberty in 2012, Nina has managed Media and Marketing and has recently taken on the role of Project Coordinator. Nina, working alongside the Project Manager, Eoghan Cunningham, is coordinating EPC 1949 exploration program located in the Bowen Basin, Central Queensland and maintaining the continued success of the project . Nina’s main focus is managing the Native Title and Cultural Heritage requirements of the Project and all of the Landholder relations.
